Don’t box me in

Woke up this morning to the sound of a tractor being off-loaded outside my window, which can only mean one thing: a new building is going up in the empty lot next to my apartment.

It was only  a matter of time, given this prime piece of real estate for another student apartment building to go up.

For me, I will lose direct sunlight once it goes up and will no longer be able to open my windows, like I have been able to, for a breeze.

I can’t wait for the 6:00am wake up calls once construction begins, the clanging of metal pipes used for scaffolding, the hammering and the pounding.

nothing like waking up to the sound of heavy machinery….had to put up with that when I lived in NYC, as well as the Department of Sanitation trucks making their noisy way down the streets two days a week. You have my sympathies :(

Korea is called “The Land of the Morning Calm” — but there are days when it’s more like The Land of the Morning Backhoe.”
