One meeting that changed everything.

It was exactly one year ago today when Ray Smith called an emergency staff meeting to discuss some proposed changes at the language institute I formerly taught at.

By the end of the summer, eight instructors including myself had resigned; by year’s end, most of the remaining staff had also resigned.

It would be a sad demise to one of Korea’s most famous language institutes losing so many qualified instructors at one time because management was scrambling to cut costs but oblivious to the fact that it had been the instructors who had made the language program successful.
